Pay for guests at events immediately

We don't want our members to carry a balance.  The new event guests feature is great except it doesn't force the member to pay the assigned guest fee right away.  Please consider updating this.

I would also like to see this feature. 

I've tried to do this by enabling the "Require Up-Front Payment" option on the event. However, when I save the event, close it, and re-open it, the setting has been cleared. Your support team tells me that this feature won't work if the event itself is free.

I am throwing my support to this and want to be clear on what we would need - if a guest is added to an event or registration and we are requiring up front payment, the guest fee should also be paid up front.  Currently it is excluded and as noted in this enhancement request, ends up having our members carry a balance that they must manually resolve.  We do have some use for Guest Fee punch cards and that should be an option as well.  We have chosen an all up front payment approach for our club and having guest fees excluded creates unnecessary work for the admin and the member and reduces satisfaction during the registration workflow.
