enhanced phone number lookup

We use phone numbers to pull up member accounts. Unfortunately because there is not a specific criteria on how a number is entered, it makes the phone number lookup difficult. For example a number can be entered as xxxxxxxxxx, xxx-xxx-xxxx, or (xxx) xxx-xxxx and the search will only pull numbers in the exact same format as listed on the account.
Please, please, please either force the number to be entered a certain way -or- update the search so that it can pull a number regardless of it's format!!!!

Agree. Please program the phone number field to automatically format the phone # into a consistent format. Either (xxx)xxx-xxxx or xxx-xxx-xxxx ... either will work as long as it forces the consistency. This should be an easy quick-fix. PLEASR and THANK YOU.
Yes that would be amazing!
When we are entering a lot of new members at once, most staff members put XXXXXXXXXX and then when we have to call later it is difficult to read. On top of what the other comments are saying about a sleeker phone number lookup (as this will be the most simple and helpful way to lookup members, especially those with common names)
