Mode of Payment Default

Is it possible to have cash a the default for mode of payment? right now it is credit card and if you have a trigger happy staff that just click right away on payment then the cc will be charged if a cc info has been saved. it is easier to correct a cash transaction rather than refunding a credit card which entails additional expense due to transaction charges collected by our payment provider.
