Duplicate Names in Point of Sale Module
In Point of Sale, when searching for a Member for the transaction, if multiple members have the same name, the only differentiating factor is the member ID, which our Members don't memorize. We can also search by email, but some may not know what email is on the account off the top of their head, like our campers who are buying snacks and drinks during break. Staff have been either taking extra time to confirm the right account or unfortunately, at times, don't confirm the account, leading to the wrong members paying for transactions.
Middle names/initials and identifier symbols have been suggested as a work around. However, that poses a couple issues. This would increase the workload as our team would have to regularly check if members have the same name on a regular basis. Also, we have received complaints when we used identifier symbols and can foresee more complaints with the middle name/initial involved.
One solution is for the Point of Sale platform to include another identifier when populating names from a search like phone number or email. This way, staff are able to confirm the correct account in a faster and more efficient way.

We completely understand the challenges you've outlined, especially for larger clubs with overlapping member names. We've scoped a solution that will display the last four digits of the member’s phone number - not only when searching in Point of Sale, but also when players are added to reservations and share the same name. This should significantly reduce confusion and friction for your staff and members.
