Custom Auto-Emails using <shortcodes>

Would like the ability to use "phrases" or "shortcodes" to customize auto-emails and one-off emails using standard and custom fields.

Example: I have an event called "Baseball Development Clinic (AGES 6-8)".  When you scroll to the bottom of the event (admin page to create/edit the event) I have created a CUSTOM FIELD called DOOR. Since our facility is about 50,000 sq. feet, people need to know which door they need to enter in order to get to the correct field. I would like to email this to them within the confirmation/registration email.

In another system we use (MINDBODY), all the Auto-Emails are found in ONE AREA and we can customize all emails.  They provide a phrase list of all the possible fields we can use to generate a custom email. This is really helpful for many applications.
