Auto Reassign Membership Category Upgrades
I recently learned about the Auto Reassign Membership Category feature which is awesome! I was hoping for some new features/upgrades to be considered for that:
- X Days Past Due To Expire Account and X Days Past Due to Auto-Cancel Membership have to line up? Can they be different amounts of days?
- Adding an option to Auto Reassign when their membership expires. Currently only there for when they cancel
- Allowing us to Auto Reassign those on a family membership to an Individual membership option (i.e. If someone cancels their membership, whether its family or individual, we want to put them as a Visitor which is our free "non-member" option)
- Providing the option to Auto Reassign on memberships that don't have a fee (i.e. non home club (Network) members)

Following. I second this.
The option to auto reassign their membership when it expires. I run seasonal paid membership options, when one expires due to the set end date in the system, it does not automatically reassign their membership, nor give me the option to set one. As mentioned above, you can set it if "expire after x number of days" is set or "cancel after x numbers of days past due", but not when the membership expires due to the end date.
The system clearly has the function to be able to auto reassign, so it seems strange it cannot reassign under these circumstances. It would make it much easier for both the member side and and admin side. The member wouldn't then need to sign in and select a new membership type, nor would the admin need to manually reassign all the members of the ended paid membership.
Hi Alex- please reach out to our Customer Success team. If a membership expires due to an end date, there should be an auto-reassignment picking up. Our team reviewed and we did make an update around this during the spring. We'd like our CS team to take a deeper look at this and tag as a bug if it's not working as expected.
Hi Kim, I will reach out to a live customer success team member. I had used Rally AI and it told me several times that the system will not automatically reassign due to an End Date in the system and it has to be done manually.
It was stated that the system will only automatically reassign under two conditions, "Expire after x numbers of days" and "Cancel after x numbers of days past due". I originally reached out because my Winter Membership season ended and I had about 15 members unassigned that I had to manually reassign and I couldn't find an option for it to automatically reassign after the End Date.
Hi Kim, I reached out to the customer success team and after two days of communication, it was confirmed that what my comment states is true. There is not automatic reassignment of membership types of based on the "End Date" entered, but rather automatic reassignment applies only in two cases, when "expire after x number of days" or "cancel after x numbers of days past due" options are used.
These functions do not work for my seasonal membership options. My seasonal membership options (Summer/Winter memberships) run for 6 months and automatically renew every month and end based on the end date I enter in the system, not after X number of days, so this reassignment option is greyed out and unavailable. Secondly, due to the End Date I enter in the system, the system doesn't generate an upcoming billing cycle for the membership past that end date, so there the member never becomes past due, since there is not payment, so it doesn't reassign it via that method.
There should be a way to systematically reassign a member from a membership to a new membership based solely off the end date entered in the system. This would be a great addition for memberships that are paid monthly and automatically renewed, but end on a certain date. Again, it seems like the system has the functionality to do so, but lacks the ability to do so.
