Exporting Numbers as Values vs. Text

Currently, the Excel export delivers numerical values as text strings rather than numeric data types. This prevents immediate calculations and requires manual 'Text to Columns' conversion every time. Are there plans to update the export schema so that currency and quantity fields default to Number formats out of the box?
