Basic email editor should auto-draft an email from a Google Doc

We're a small volunteer-run club and really do not have time to click and poke through the email creation process. For years we've been composing our newsletter in a Google Doc, then sending it out - first by gmail, then through CR. Thanks for brining back the basic email editor, but copying and pasting into the basic editor doesn't handle images correctly. 

A new feature we would LOVE would be to let us compose a basic email by giving the link to a Google Doc. The basic email editor would run through that doc and produce the email draft, doing all the right things with the images. All the rest can be just the simple html that the basic editor already supports. That's all we need.
