Tournament Manager

Tim Owens 8 years ago in Events / Programming updated by Jeff Hagy 5 days ago 30 1 duplicate

This would be an "add-on" feature to the CR Platform that would allow you to run internal tournaments including:

* Registration

* Player Check-In

* Score Posting

* Brackets

and more..

Any idea when this will be implemented?

Will this include tournaments with outside clubs?

This would be a great way for facilities to increase court presence and seamlessly create events.

Is this still in the works? When might it be available?

Any timeline on this?

Just wanted to post an update here.

Our team just got out of Q4 planning.  Based off that planning and looking at the results of a recent customer survey, a Round Robin manager and Team-based (partner) leagues were higher requested and are a lower level of effort than a Tournament Manager.  I do realize the Tournament Manager is #1 on the idea board and I feel pretty confident it will make the cut to get planned Q1-2025.

I'll keep everyone updated here.

Thanks,
Tim

Hi Tim. Any updates on a Tournament Manager add-on?

yes please!!!!! Been looking forward to this. Please make it happen.

As a TD this would make my life a whole lot easier! I have 14 tournaments that run simultaneously.

Building further comment traction for this idea, a tournament manager would be an amazing feature!

I wanted to poll this group: Has anyone who has posted in this thread wanting a tournament manager had any experience running a tournament via Pickleball Den? If so, please respond and let me know. I would love to chat about your experience.

Thanks,

CourtReserve

Hey Tim!

I'd love a chance to talk about CourtReserve's progress on the tournament and league softwares. We had 600+ league players this fall, and operate our own club tournament each month. Our club is very programming-heavy, and we've learned quite a bit over the years about what we need in order for these leagues and tournaments to be successful. Shoot me a message anytime! Thanks for all you do!

Would love to see this released soon

YES! and to allow for a doubles tournament! (where teams sign up together)

I think at the very least be able to integrate a third party bracket/tournament manager that can work together with registration and creating the brackets and schedule

I think the third party you might be referring to is Swish as they have intergrated them into Court Reserve. It was pricey so I dont know how their tournament manager works, but it sounds like it might be what your looking for.

Agree - we too are hesitant to try it out as the 10-day trial offered by Swish was over by the time we got our test configuration figured out.

We have to use a separate software for all of our leagues and tournaments, and we pay a monthly fee for unlimited use of it, but it's not integrated into CourtReserve or DUPR. It would be nice if it was.

I started to explore into the league aspect of court reserve and realized it's quite limited. What software do you use for leagues?

Swish is not the answer in my opinion for any large clubs internal tournaments and events.  How can a desired feature be the number 1 item on the idea board for 8 years and still not be in development.  Is Court Reserve focused on club management to the detriment of organized activities?

About 8 months ago, there was a comment asking for feedback. That’s the closest it has come to moving into development. The comment before that mentioned implementing a round robin manager, so the expectation is that the round robin manager would come first, followed by a tournament manager. Unfortunately, that timeline was anticipated for 2025.

Thanks for the update Jeff, but the question remains, when can we expect the round robin manager, if this is required to be developed before the tournament manager. It appears Court Reserve  has lost interest in developing event software.

Event Management software is the next big need for Court Reserve platform. I would rather spend a little extra a month for that software to be integrated with CR rather than having a separate platform for registration and bracket play for any sports.

I value the events portion the most as I believe that retains players the best. Especially tournaments, which the need for this idea to come into development is highly anticipated.
