Event & Reservation Restriction - Change the value of Zero. Restrict Memberships from being added to a reservation that they should be restricted from

In the Event & Reservation Restriction tab

If  Admin wants to restrict the # of pickleball courts/week a membership could reserve to no pickleball courts/week an Admin would tend to input a zero (0) in the restriction field thinking the membership would be allowed zero pickleball courts per week

However the functionality of zero does not work that way

  • Zero = unlimited. "0" on a court type restriction means it has no effect. This is not intuitive.


Because of this there is not a way for the system to stop the Tennis Only Members from being added to a pickleball court by a pickleball player even though the 'Tennis Only Membership' does not allow pickleball courts as a bookable item & pickleball reservations are hidden from the 'Tennis Only Membership' on the court scheduler

I viewed today's Tuesday Release Video regarding that a zero inputted into a restriction field would now actual equal zero. Great!

I tested this feature using a 'Tennis Only membership' where the membership is not allowed to reserve pickleball courts.

I updated the restrictions for the 'Tennis Only membership' to allow zero pickleball courts reservations/week. (member and family). 

However a member with a 'Pickleball membership' court still add a 'Tennis Only' member to a pickleball court. So this feature is not restricting cross sport access.
